Overview: Hipcamp is a campsite rental service that was founded in 2013, with the goal of changing how people camp. Hipcamp has opened the outdoors to campers by working with private landowners to create new and diverse outdoor experiences.
Challenge: Hipcamp faces the challenge of differentiation. While they are one of the most funded apps in their category, they have a hard time at appealing to every camper. We saw the opportunity in helping Hipcamp expand and further define their visual brand to be more playful and comprehensive of their platform.
Execution: With Hipcamp’s plethora of listings and fun persona in mind, we developed a fresh and playful visual identity, reflective of the top goal of Hipcamp: to get people outside. By showcasing funky and diverse listings, with fun typography and photography, we’ve worked to establish a much more approachable brand voice that is implemented across platforms.

HipCamp Quiz
One of the ways we felt Hipcamp could utilize its variety of camping locations is by offering an interactive quiz that will allow the user to narrow down their search results if they are unsure where to start. If you are new to camping, the quiz will help you find locations that fit your style of camping. Flip through the quiz below.
To have a closer relationship with our audience our team felt the best way to do that is to do personal postcards as some of our instagram posts. Not only do the posts show Hipcamp’s many unique locations but It shows our users having a great time due to booking with Hipcamp!

Ad Campaign
To show that Hipcamp is for everyone, my team decided to pick photography that would show the diverse locations that they offer. With inviting imagery and typography, we are encouraging campers of all levels to use our service.
